Alfred Galbreath, 76, a longtime resident of Emporia, Kansas, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Meridian Health & Rehabilitation Center in Wichita, Kansas.

Born December 2, 1949, in Leavenworth, Kansas, Alfred was the son of Alfred and Lucy (Robinson) Galbreath. He was raised in Leavenworth and attended local schools, where his natural athletic ability and discipline quickly set him apart. A standout wrestler in high school, Alfred completed the season undefeated with a 13–0 record, earning a scholarship to wrestle at Pratt Community College.

Athletics and strength remained central to Alfred's life. Deeply involved in martial arts, he was honored as a standby member of the U.S. team for the 1972 Olympic Games. His physical prowess never faded—well into his 50s, Alfred could still split 80‑pound boulders with a single punch and drop effortlessly into James Brown–style splits, living proof that discipline and power were a lifelong commitment.

In 1982, Alfred moved to Emporia, Kansas, where he worked for 40 years as a trainer for IBP/ Tyson Products. He believed deeply in caring for your own, staying strong with family, and pushing others to be their best—values he lived by every day and passed on to all who knew him.

Alfred embraced life fully. He loved fishing and hunting, finding peace outdoors and enjoyment in the simple, rugged moments. Just as naturally, he loved to step out in style—often dressed to the nines in pinstriped suits and gator shoes, polished and confident. He was frequently the life of the party, Motown filling the room—especially favorites like "Your Precious Love" by Jerry Butler—with a sip of Jack Daniel's close at hand. Charming, smooth, and self‑assured, Alfred carried himself as a true gentleman who knew how to command a room and leave a lasting impression.

A fiercely loyal fan of the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders, Alfred supported his team with the same dedication he showed to family and friends.

Alfred shared his life with Ana M. Monreal beginning in 1989, building a partnership rooted in loyalty, strength, and love. On June 6, 2006, the two were united in marriage in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He is survived by his wife, Ana M. (Monreal) Galbreath; his sons, Lucious Galbreath and D'Andre Galbreath, both of Topeka; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great‑grandchildren, all of whom were a constant source of pride and joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Lucious Smith; and his sister, Eva Taylor.

Visitation with an open casket will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Affordable Cremations Plus in Wichita, Kansas.

Graveside services and interment will take place at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Greenwood Cemetery in Wichita.

Alfred lived unapologetically—strong hands, sharp style, loyal heart, and a soul that refused to fade quietly. He believed in family, stood firm in his principles, and lived life at full volume. In the spirit of of the music he proudlly embodied, we don't just kiss and say goodbye—we say thank you. Thank you for the strength, the lessons, the laughter, the music, and the love.
