Alice Lucille Souligny, 93, passed away on July 8, 2025 at Glen Carr House in Derby, Ks.

Alice was born in Ponca City on July 16, 1931 to Lawrence and Viola Suttle. She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1949. She married Raymond Konklin on April 13, 1949. They had three children; Jan Konklin Holt, Gary Konklin and Billy Konklin, six grandchildren; Robin Daniels, Jeremiah Konklin, Evelyn Konklin, Billy Konklin Jr., Tracy Konklin, and Brian Madsen, five great grandchildren; Darnell Daniels, Dusty Konklin, Miah Konklin, Katelyn Konklin, and Brooklyn Konklin.

She later married Earl Souligny of Ponca City, OK. After her marriage to Earl, Alice became a well-known native American artist. Her paintings have been the subject of several exhibitions, some of which are in collections at the University of California-Riverside, University of Wisconsin – Madison, the American Art and Portrait Gallery, and the National Museum of the American Indian Library, of which the latter are part of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. In 1977, she was a guest artist at Robert Redford's "Sundance Ranch" in Utah for the world premiere of the movie "Indian".

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Viola Suttle, husband, Earl Souligny, sister, Doris, daughter, Jan Holt, and granddaughter Robin Daniels.

She will be missed.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
