Angela Renee Jones

Angela Renee Jones, 46, of Wichita, KS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 7, 2026, while in hospice care at her residence. Born on January 31, 1980, in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Donald Jones and Gina Miller. Angela was a lifelong seeker of knowledge and expression. In her youth, she was a gifted writer with a particular talent for poetry and a love for music, specifically for playing the viola. As a child Angela had a natural knack for training her dog, Spiffy, through 4-H—achieving an impeccably mannered companion. Her passion for the written word evolved throughout her life; she was an enthusiastic reader who later found great joy in the world of audiobooks. Angela took great pride in mastering the skills necessary to navigate the world with newfound independence after losing her sight. Angela was known for her vibrant, larger-than-life personality and her wonderfully eccentric hobbies. A self-proclaimed expert in all things Star Wars and Dune, she possessed an endless appetite for "intellectual foraging." Whether she was diving into complex literacy comprehension, listening to her favorite podcasts like Mr. Ballen, or curating her unique collections, Angela approached life with a singular, curious energy .She is survived by her parents, Donald and Cheryl Jones and Gina and Tony Miller; her children, Ryan , Sayler (Chris) Preister, Raven, and Gwendolyn and Ashlyn Andreas; her siblings, Lisa Dalke, Raymond Fetzer, Kyle (and Casey) Jones and Elizabeth (and Steve) Reid; and her beloved nieces and nephews.Angela was preceded in death by her brother, Kevin Jones; her grandparents, Gilbert and Harriet Jones and Eugene and Winifred Koehn; and Ray and Ada Fae Ditmars.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 20th, at the Dillon Nature Center Visitors Center, 3002 East 30th, Hutchinson, KS 67502.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The American Foundation for the Blind at https://afb.org/donate
