Obituary

Anita Louise (Fox) Lespagnard, a longtime resident of Haysville, Kansas, passed away at the age of 86 on March 11, 2025 at Glen Carr House in Derby, Kansas. She had not been in good health for some time. Her husband, George and daughter, Jennifer were with her at her time of passing.

Anita was the third of three Fox children. She was born in Leona, Kansas on August 21, 1938. She attended Gardner Elementary, then Hamilton Junior High in Wichita, Kansas and graduated from Wichita East High School in 1956. She went on to attend Manhattan Christian College in Manhattan, Kansas.

Anita met George Julian Lespagnard while in college where she was a cheerleader and he was a basketball coach. They were married at Broadway Christian Church in Wichita on June 11, 1960. Together, they had two children; Randal Lee Lespagnard in Herington, Ks and Jennifer Lespagnard Breese in Enid, Oklahoma.

Anita was a girl scout, and worked as a candy striper when she was young. She played piano and was a talented artist fueled by a wonderful imagination. She enjoyed physical activities such as hiking, biking, swimming, ice and roller skating, softball and other athletic activities. She was a hardworking, loving mother who always took care of her family. She enjoyed playing games, taking trips, and seeing new places with family and friends. When her children were young she was a Cub Scout den mother and was involved with the Brownies as well.

Anita was a devout Christian and a member of the First Christian Church of Haysville, Kansas. She was very involved with the life of the church wherever her minister's husband job would take them. She participated in Sunday School classes, choirs, youth and women's groups and enjoyed going to women's retreats.

Outside of family and church she held other jobs such as selling Tupperware, Avon, and was a bank teller. For many years she was a para at Rex Elementary and Campus High School in Haysville, Kansas.

Anita was preceded death by her father, Ira Ansel Fox, mother, Erma Louise Leonhard Fox, brother, Jimmy Leonhard Fox, and sister, Rita Mae Fox.

Anita is survived by her husband of 64 years, George Julian Lespagnard, son, Randal Lee Lespagnard, daughter, Jennifer Louise Lespagnard Breese (Mike), grandchildren; Brandon Michael Lespagnard (Breanna), Laura Julian Lespagnard, Nathan Breese (Brandi), Stephanie Breese - Ko, and Kyle Breese (Laura), 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Anita fervently believed that "you don't talk about people, you pray for them." She would frequently quote the verse "this world is not my home, I'm just passing through."

A duel ceremony for Anita and George will be held upon George's passing.

She is no longer bound by the fetter of this mortal world. Rest in peace dear Mother.
