Obituary

Ann Carlisle passed away peacefully at home on August 4, 2025.

Born in Wichita, Ann graduated from East High School in 1957 and married her junior high sweetheart, James Carlisle, in 1958. Together, they raised two daughters and built a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Ann worked as a bookkeeper throughout her life, with one of her most cherished roles being at a brokerage firm, where she had the opportunity to visit the New York Stock Exchange. She loved telling stories of riding in limousines with the sunroof open in Manhattan in the winter with snow falling—just one of many adventures that brought her joy.

A woman of many talents and passions, Ann enjoyed painting, movies, flowers, sailing, music, and, above all, spending time with her family. Despite a challenging childhood, she was full of life and poured her heart into her role as a devoted mother and grandmother. She encouraged silliness, creativity, and curiosity, playing an active part in the lives of her grandchildren.

Ann and James shared a love for travel, especially to national parks, teaching their children to appreciate the beauty of the United States. She adored planning family vacations, from cruises to cross-country adventures, creating lifelong memories along the way.

Ann will be deeply missed. She was one of the sweetest, kindest, and most loving women we've ever known with a fire of being unstoppable even in her last days.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband James Carlisle and her brother JB Mourning. She is survived by: Daughters: Jaime Kissinger (Bryce) and Angela Carlisle (Lisa), Grandchildren: Brody Kissinger (fiancée Jenna), Brenyn Kissinger (Madison), James Bumpas, and Alexa Bumpas, Niece: Kim Mourning & many loving friends.
