April Kay Bohannan, 81, of Andover, Kansas, died Thursday, August 21, 2025 at the Ascension Via Christi Medical Center-St. Joseph Campus in Wichita.

She was born on April 2, 1944 in Wichita, the daughter of Lester Clay and Mildred Virginia Ward Bohannan. April graduated from Maize High School and later attended Gilead School in New York.

She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses and served as a Missionary in the Dominican Republic.

April had worked for Sedgwick County Department of Mental Health (now COMCARE) and had worked at Ablah Library at W.S.U. for several years. Retiring in 2017.

She is survived by her nephews Carey Bohannan and Allan Bohannan

April is preceded in death by her parents; brother Clayton Bohannan; and sister Julia McElroy and Niece Jennie Heltsley-Inkelaar

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, September 13 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses--Wichita North English, 3040 Jackson N Ave, Wichita, KS 67204
