Obituary

Arnold "Arnie" E. Grossnickle, 79, passed away on January 9, 2026 surrounded by his family at home in Maize, Ks. He was born on April 5, 1946 in Huntington, Indiana to Paul and Pauline (Hipskin) Grossnickle.

Arnie was a true patriot. He proudly served his country for over 20 years in the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard. Racing was his passion, he raced quarter midgets as a child and went on to race stock cars at 81 Speedway in the early 1990's. He was a jack of all trades and quite the handyman, he could fix anything. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. In the recent years he excelled at golf. He enjoyed many rounds with friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Randy Grossnickle.

He is survived by his wife, Carole of the home, daughter, Heather Wilson (Nathan) and son, Scott Grossnickle (Stephanie), 4 grandchildren; Derek Layland, Zack Grossnickle, Garrett Wilson, and Connor Wilson, 5 great grandchildren; Noah Grossnickle, Levi Grossnickle, Jace Grossnickle, Bennett Layland, and Marjorie Layland.

Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026 at Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield, Ks. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Home Health and Hospice of Kansas.
