Arthur Richard Heling, 80, passed away peacefully at his home in Rosehill, KS on July 27, 2025. Born on September 12, 1944, in East Los Angeles, CA. Arthur lived a life full of dedication, hard work, and unwavering love for his family and country.

A proud United States Air Force Veteran, Art served four years during the Vietnam War as a Radar Operator. While stationed overseas, he also spent two memorable years in Germany, where he played football for the Air Force, a time he often fondly recalled.

Art began his professional life as a copy machine repairman at Xerox, where his drive and determination led him to take night classes and earn a degree in management. Over 17 years, he rose through the ranks and eventually continued his career as a Regional Manager at Compaq.

Later in life, he followed his heart and pursued landscaping, a passion that brought him true joy. Whether in the boardroom or out in the garden, Art was admired for his leadership, integrity, and kindness. He led by example, never asking anyone to do something he wouldn't do himself, and always went out of his way to make sure his colleagues felt appreciated.

Outside of work, Art found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He loved tending to his backyard, playing backgammon on the patio with his beloved wife Cheryl, and spending quality time with his family. He took great pride in cooking Sunday brunches, a cherished weekly tradition.

Art was also a longtime member of the Elk's Lodge #266, during his years in Bakersfield, CA. A loyal Kansas City Chiefs fan, one of the highlights of his later years was attending his first Chiefs game with his granddaughter Samantha to celebrate his 80th birthday.

In 2017, Arthur and Cheryl moved from California to Kansas, first moving to Pittsburg before finally settling in Rosehill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Rudolph "Rudy" Heling, his brothers, Rudy and Robert Heling, and his sisters Pat Smart and Doris Hall.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Cheryl Heling; his son Matthew Heling; stepdaughters Stacee Stempson and Kendra Kerste; grandchildren Samantha, Alex, Ryan, Kendra, Kaden and Quinten; and great grandchildren Brody, Riley, and Jonah.

Arthur will be remembered for his generous heart, his deep love for family, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, hard work, and kindness that will live on in those who knew and loved him.
