Bonnie McGill

Bonnie Lee McGill, 63, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Kenwood View Health Center in Salina.

Bonnie was born October 18, 1962, in Poughkeepsie, New York. Her family later moved to Oregon, where she was raised.

Bonnie eventually moved to Texas, where she lived until moving to El Dorado, Kansas, 37 years ago. Over the years, she also lived in Cedar Point, Florence, Peabody, and Herington before making her home in Salina six years ago.

Bonnie worked for several years as a waitress in Newton at C.J.’s Pancake House and Newell’s Truck Stop. She loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hiking, fishing, and camping.

She is survived by her children, Jeremy McGill and wife Tiffany of Newton; Tonya Axtell and husband Jason Ferrall of Salina; Donald “Reas” Axtell and wife Dina of Idalou, Texas; Mary Means and husband Sam of Salina; and David Axtell and wife Amanda of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; brothers David McGill of Pine Plains, New York, Jeffrey McGill of Pleasant Valley, New York, and Mike LeClaire of Billings, Montana; sister Nancy LeClaire of Texas; 22 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her father, Harold E. McGill, Jr., and her mother, Mary E. Barrett.

A Celebration of Life is being planned and will be announced by Affordable Cremations Plus of Wichita, Kansas.
