Bruce Cleaves Lovejoy, 75, died Saturday, December 6, 2025 at his home in Maize, Kansas.

He was born on November 10, 1950 in Farmington, Maine, the son of Frederick Collins and Bernice Cleaves Lovejoy. The family moved from Maine to Wichita when he was 10 years old. Bruce graduated from Wichita Southeast High School in the Class of 1970 and later from New Mexico Highlands in Las Vegas, New Mexico.

Bruce married Irene Amanda Whitted at the Bartlett Arboretum in Belle Plaine, Kansas in September 1984. Through the years, they enjoyed square dancing.

He returned to Wichita where he went to work for Cessna Aircraft and later was a salesman for Cole Hartford. In December 2002 Bruce went to work at the WalMart Store at 21st and Maize Road where he worked in several departments before retiring.

Bruce enjoyed walking every day along with watching movies.

Survivors include his wife Irene of the home in Maize; son Andrew Lovejoy of Dodge City; daughter Jennifer Britton and husband Dustin of Augusta; sisters Susan Hanson of Pemanquid, Maine and Nancy Madland of Keystone, Colorado; along with his two grandchildren Lucas and Elizabeth Britton.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents.
