Carolyn Thomas

Carolyn Marie Thomas, 79, lifelong Dodge City, Kansas resident, went to live in Eternal Life with her Savior Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at her daughter’s home in Haysville, Kansas surrounded by her family and holding the hand of beloved.

Carol was born on September 9, 1947 in Dodge City, the daughter of Arthur Russell and Helen Marie White Flinn. Carol was raised in Dodge City where she graduated from Dodge City Senior High.

She married the love of her life and the man who thinks she is the most beautiful girl he has ever seen, Charles 'Chuck' Edward Thomas, on November 12, 1966 in Dodge City. They continued to live in Dodge City until recently moving to Haysville to be closer to her loving family.

Carol had been the church secretary at the First Baptist Church in Dodge City for 15 years. She and a group of her friends enjoyed doing crafts and became the Bag Ladies Crafting group. She loved to prepare all year for Christmas craft gifts. Carol enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and dogs.

Survivors include her husband Charles and daughter Melissa (Paul) Cook, both of the home in Haysville; beloved son in law Raymond 'Ray' Butterfield, grandchildren Eyan Butterfield (Holli), Joshua Cook (Bambi), Jacob Cook; and great grandchildren Theo, Jay, Lily, and Ellie Freeland, Rebel Stroh and Amaryllis Cook.

She is preceded in Heaven by her parents Arthur and Helen Flinn, brothers Alfred Flinn, George Flinn and daughter Michelle Butterfield.

Memorial services at the First Baptist Church in Dodge City on October 21st at 1pm.
