Carolyn Louise Webb, whose name to nearly everyone was simply Carol, age 62, of Concordia, Kansas, passed away peacefully in her home on November 6, 2025. She was born on April 2, 1963, in Potosi, Missouri, to Carolyn McGiffen and Carl Short, and was the eldest of five children.

Carol spent her early years in Illinois before making her home in Kansas, where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a proud mother to her three children: Ric Jacob Meczywor, Amber Wogomon (Meczywor), and Alena Rugg (Short). She was, more proudly, a grandmother to Rylee and Cooper Wogomon and Brady and Cooper Pruser, children of Amber and Austin Pruser, and to Lilian and Logan Rugg, children of Alena.

Before an early retirement, Carol completed her CDL and worked as an over-the-road driver. She traveled thousands of miles across the country, collecting priceless mementos from her journeys, including rocks, feathers, photos, gifts, and tiny trinkets, which she saved and shared with her grandchildren.

Carol had an eclectic mix of interests that made her uniquely her. She enjoyed reading and built a book collection that grew with her throughout her life. Some of her favorite authors included Stephen King, Anne Rice, and Dean Koontz. She also collected salt and pepper shakers, and her home showcased many shelves and spaces filled with these unique pieces. She had a true green thumb and was able to make nearly any plant thrive. She cooked from scratch with skill that could not be taught. She loved video games, especially Mario, and found joy in simple things that others might easily overlook.

Carol was stubborn, funny, sarcastic when she wanted to be, and soft when she needed to be. She cared in ways that were genuine and steady, lived loudly, and lived in a way that could only ever belong to her. Her family will remember her humor, her independence, the sound of her laughter, the crook of her smile, and the way she showed love even when it was difficult to say out loud.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Eric Short, her favorite aunt, Faye Rogers (Thompson), and her father, Carl Short.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, siblings, and many loved ones who will continue to carry her memory forward.

A celebration of Carol's life will be held on December 7th, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at The Break Pad, 137 East 7th Street, Concordia, KS. The family welcomes all who knew her. Casual dress is encouraged.
