Charlene Kay Beebe, 76, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at her home in Bel Aire, Kansas.
She was born on March 12, 1949, in Lander, Wyoming, the daughter of Enos Buel "Jack" and Florence Lorraine Appleby Hopkins. Charlene was raised in Kimball, Nebraska where she graduated from high school.
All through her life she strived to help others. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse in May of 1986. Worked for several years at the Mitchell Care Center in Mitchell, Nebraska. Charlene later moved to the Torrington, Wyoming area where she met Clarence Edward Beebe. They were married on March 23, 2007. Charlene and Ed had moved to Bel Aire to be close to her daughter within the past two years.
Through the years Charlene enjoyed being a member of the Eagles Lodge in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, the Senior Center in Torrington, Wyoming and trips with her friends to Deadwood, South Dakota to gamble. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed crocheting.
Survivors include her husband Ed along with her daughter Jennifer Krueger and husband Kyle of the home in Bel Aire; sons Douglas Peters and wife Cheryl of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Gregory Peters and wife Denise of Colorado City, Colorado; step-son Doug Beebe of Theodore, Alabama_; sister Susan Craig of Mitchell, Neb.; brother Jack Hopkins of Sterling, Colo., half-sister Shirley Beard of Russell, Arkansas; grandchildren Jessica Darst, Janessa Darst, Dustin Peters, Shelby McConahay, Chrissy Land, Jeremy Peters, Cory Brunzell, Krista Suedekum, Ashley Wilkerson; and 19 great grandchildren. Plus, many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Charlene is preceded in death by her parents; sister Echo Penwell; and grandson Dylan Peters.
Funeral Service will be held on January 17, 2026 at 2:00pm at North Hills Baptist Church 101 West 8th Street Lingle, Wyoming 82223.
Celebration of life will be held on February 7, 2026 from 2:00pm -5:00pm at 101 Club, Bingo 2206 E. 101 Street N Valley Center, KS 67147.
Arrangements are by Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Kansas.
