Charles "Chuck" William Best, Jr., 66, died Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in Wichita surrounded by members of his family.

He was born on September 11, 1959, in Wichita, the son of Charles William and Jacqulyn Chalmers Best. Chuck was raised in Wichita and graduated from Wichita North High School in 1977.

For several years he has been a carpet layer in the Wichita area, most recently working for Carpet Value before he retired.

Chuck lived by the seat of his pants. He loved to play the guitar, go fishing, watch football and barbeque.

He is preceded in death by his father Charles William Best, Sr., grandparents Troy and Ethel Goin Best and Louis and Elizabeth Patteson Chalmers.

He was an awesome dad and is survived by his mother Jacque Best of Wichita; his sons Charles Best, III of Wichita, Brian Best of Derby; daughters Rebecca (Bill) Hybki  of Casa Grande, AZ, Elizabeth (Aymen) Best Abidi of Wichita, Sarah (Michael) Smith of Wichita, Lacy (Austin) Plummer  of Haysville, and Jamie Horsley of Wichita; brother Richard Best of Colorado Springs, CO.

Chuck enjoyed spending time with his 16 grandchildren, Chase, Bradley, Breauna, Caleb, Brittaney, Jay, Caitlyn, Jesse, Ethan, Matthew, Jonathan, Jacob, Mayson, David, Pagan, and Cooper; and one great-grandchild Maverick.

A Celebration Of Life will be held Friday, December 12 between 5:30 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. at the Sedgwick County Park Horseshoe Building.

Arrangements are by Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, KS.
