Charles (Bud) Anton Browning, 75, of Topeka, Kansas, died Sunday, September 13, 2026 at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield, Kansas.
He was born on December 18, 1950 in San Diego, California. After graduating from Mount Miguel High School, Charles served three years in the U.S. Air Force during the VietNam Conflict.
After being discharged from the military he went to college and would become a Mechanical Engineer. Through the years he worked for multiple companies and later operated his own business for 10 years.
He married Marcie Williams on May 27, 1994 in Lake Wylie, South Carolina. They lived in the Carolinas for 23 years before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada where they lived until moving to Topeka three years ago.
Charles enjoyed photography, being outdoors, working on cars and taking care of his yard. He was an avid reader, enjoyed music, old movies and new adventures.
Survivors include his wife Marcie Williams-Browning of the home in Topeka; son Jonathan Browning and wife Jessica of Oceanside, Calif.; daughter Corinne Browning of Redding, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Charles is preceded in death by his father Bill Browning and mother Mary Louise Marshall Rusten.
Following Charles’ wishes, no services will be held.
Arrangements are by Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Kansas.
