Obituary

Charlotte Pauline Williams, 81, died Monday, January 5, 2026, at her home in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born on September 28, 1944, in Rocky Ford, Colorado, the daughter of Fred and Pauline Ridenour Gill. The family moved to Illinois where Charlotte was raised in the Waterloo area later moving to Bellville, Illinois where she lived until moving to Wichita in 1973.

Charlotte married John Maurice Williams on March 20th, 1976, in Wichita, Kansas. They continued to live in Wichita. John died on May 3rd, 2005.

Through the years Charlotte cleaned houses before going to work at the Schulte Country Store and later at Lamar Donut Shop until retiring.

She taught herself to sew and enjoyed making quilts for family members.

Survivors include her son David Hankins and wife Andrea of Wichita; daughters Patricia Osborn of Wichita, Brenda Danler and husband Dennis of Harlingen, Texas; brother Scott Gill of Garden City, Ks.; sisters Mary Peters of Golden, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother Gary and Chuck Gill.

Memorial services will be held at Faith Community Church on February 21st, 2026, at 10:30 am.

Inurnment will take place at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas with John.Family request that blue be worn to the funeral as it was Charlotte's favorite color.

Arrangements are by Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Kansas.
