Cheryl Jacklovich passed away September 25, 2026 at the age of 81. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and cherished member of her community. She will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the relationships she treasured, and the many memories she created with the people fortunate enough to know her.
Cheryl’s grandchildren held a very special place in her heart. She was immensely proud of each of them and never missed an opportunity to tell others about them. She spoke about Elyssa, Dylan, Jacob, Dakin, and Sylvia with a pride and love that was unmistakable. Being their grandmother was one of the great joys of her life, and the love and laughter she shared with them will remain a lasting part of her legacy.
Cheryl had a generous spirit and gave freely of her time. She valued people and made an effort to be there for those around her. She loved being surrounded by friends and found genuine joy in the fellowship and connections she shared with them. Her Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church family was an important part of her life, as was time spent with the Prairie Quilt Guild of Wichita and participating with the Quilts of Valor, where she enjoyed both the creativity of quilting and, just as importantly, the companionship of friends.
She loved special occasions especially family dinners and holidays. Her famous pumpkin pie will live forever in the memories of her family.
Those who knew Cheryl will remember not only what she did, but how she made people feel. She had a way of making relationships matter. She cherished time spent together, conversations shared, laughter, and the simple pleasures of being with people she loved. Her warmth and generosity created memories that will continue to be treasured by her family and friends.
Cheryl is survived by her sons and their wives, Joe and Laurie and Eric and DeAnna; her five grandchildren, Elyssa, Dylan, Jacob, Dakin, and Sylvia; her sister, Lynette; and many other relatives and dear friends who were fortunate to know and love her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Winnie; her husband, Joe; her son, Jeffrey; a grandson, Jackson, and her sisters, Glenna, Carolyn, and Janet.
Though Cheryl’s absence leaves a deep space in the lives of those who loved her, her legacy of love will continue through her family, her friendships, her church community, and the quilting community that brought her so much joy. Most of all, she will live on in the hearts of her grandchildren, whom she loved so dearly and spoke of so proudly.
Cheryl was deeply loved, gave generously of herself, and created a lifetime of memories that will be cherished always. She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.
“I’ll fly away, O glory, I’ll fly away.”
