Connie Kay Bledso, 69, passed away unexpectedly on October 28, 2025. Her family already misses her humor and the unmistakable spirit that made her who she was.

She was born on June 18, 1956 in Salina, Ks to Jim and June (Meitler) Gorrell in Salina, Ks.

Connie grew up in Sylvan Grove, Kansas and attended Sylvan Unified High School. She later moved out of state for many years, living in South Dakota and Nebraska with her husband before returning to Kansas and settling in Lincoln, where she spent the last ten years. Connie was an amazing cook and worked in that capacity on and off throughout her life. Cooking was her way of showing love—something she shared freely with anyone lucky enough to pull up a chair. She loved reading cookbooks as much as cooking itself, always curious to try something new or perfect a family favorite. She could be a little wild and she was wonderfully stubborn. She cared deeply about her people. She loved the smell of patchouli. She laughed loud. If you were hers, she would defend you. If you needed help, she would find a way. She loved deeply and showed it in grand ways—loud, wholehearted and impossible to miss.

Connie enjoyed simple joys most of all: time with family and friends, a good story, music that spoke to her and a day that didn't take itself too seriously. She met life on her own terms, with a laugh, a little grit and a lot of heart.

Connie was preceded in death by her son, Shane Rohrig, her husband, Steve Bledso, and her parents, Jim and June Gorrell.

Connie is survived and missed by her daughter, Misty Revenew, and her husband, Ty. Forever remembered by her brother, Mike Gorrell, and countless extended family and lifelong friends.

A celebration of Connie's life will be held at a later date in Kansas, with details to be shared with family and friends. Interment will be private.

The family welcomes memorials in Connie's honor, which may be directed to her daughter, Misty Revenew, in Hutto, Texas, for final expenses.
