Obituary

SSG Hainstock, Crystal Joy went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at her home in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 40.

She was born on November 23, 1985 in Northglen, Colorado, the daughter of Eugene D. and Lois Coberley Hainstock. The family moved to Augusta, Kansas where Crystal was raised and graduated from Augusta High School in 2004.

After high school she went to the University of Kansas for one year, then she received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Emporia State College along with a Master's Degree in Psychology from Emporia State College. Later on she received her second Master's Degree from Wichita State University in Human Resources. She taught two years at Prairie Creek Elementary School in Andover.

While attending K.U., she enlisted in the U.S. Army being a member of the Army Reserve and also serving in active duty for a total of 20 years, with one year in Kuwait

She was a member of Word of Life Church in Wichita. Crystal loved spending time with her dogs and enjoyed doing crafts.

She is survived by her mother Lois Hainstock of Augusta; brother Brian Hainstock of Wichita along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Crystal is preceded in death by her father Gene; infant brother Michael; and half-sister Darla.

A Celebration of Crystal's life with Full Military Honors will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 6th at the Word of Life Church, 915 East 53rd Street, North, Wichita, Kansas 67219.

Arrangements are by Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Kansas.
