Darryl Kelley Pelkey, 62, longtime Mulvane area resident, died Monday, July 13, 2026 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

Kelley was born on April 23, 1964 at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. He was raised in Mulvane.

Kelley married Karen Kathleen Kirstatter on April 23, 1982 in Mulvane. They lived in Mulvane and Wellington, Karen died on December 16, 2015.

Kelley returned to Mulvane and enjoyed working on mini bikes.

Survivors include his son Dane Kirstatter and wife Shannon of Derby along with their children Bryleigh, Isaiah, Ella, Kennedy, Jorgia, Payton; his daughter Shauna Botkin and husband Doug of Wichita along with their children Brandi, Laney, Jaiden; and his sister Cheronne Pelkey Colbert and husband Michael of Olathe.

Kelley is preceded in death by his father Ralph Pelkey; mother Mary E. Kie Crabtree; wife Karen, daughter Melissa Pelkey; and brothers Darren Pelkey and Ralph “Marty” Pelkey.

Private family services will be held.
