David Wayne Downs, 71, former Professor of Audiology at Wichita State University, died Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

He was born on November 11, 1953 and his preceded in death by his brother Donald Downs and sister Debra Downs Eaton, along with his parents.

Through the years David had served in the Peace Corp. He loved to travel and enjoying going by train. David was an avid movie watcher but loved being a part of area theatrical groups. He had been the Director for Shakespeare in Hollywood through Wichita Community Theater.

For several years he enjoyed being part of the Sway Ballroom and going to competitions throughout the country. He loved to Waltz and do the Fox Trot.

David enjoyed spending time with his God-son Sebastian Chinn.
