David Lynn Johnesee, 75, died Tuesday evening, May 20, 2025 at his home in Wichita, Kansas with his family at his bedside.

He was born on January 21, 1950 in Hardtner, Kansas, the son of Lynn and Maurita Mildred Reed Johnesee. David was raised in the Kiowa, Kansas area where he graduated from high school in 1968. He later graduated from Washburn University in Topeka.

David lived in the Glenwood Springs, Colorado area for a few years until moving to Wichita in 1976. He was united in marriage to Kathryn Ann Leis on November 25, 1978 in Wichita at the College Hill United Methodist Church.

David had been an Insurance Adjuster for American Family Insurance for 34 years until retiring. Since retirement he has enjoyed being a volunteer on the Lord's Diner food truck for the past ten years. Through the years David and Kathy had attended Covenant Presbyterian Church in Wichita.

Survivors include his wife Kathy of the home; two sons Mitchell Johnesee and Michael Johnesee both Wichita; and his sister Pamela Lusk and her husband David of Reno, Nevada.

David is preceded in death by his parents and daughter Sara Diane Johnesee on December 31, 2006.

Graveside and inurnment services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 14 at Resurrection Cemetery in Wichita.
