David Lee Lara, 45, of Dodge City, Kansas, died Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas with his family by his side.

He was born on February 19, 1979 in Garden City, Kansas. David was raised in the Garden City and Dodge City areas and attended school in Great Bend, Kansas.

David married Mary Mata in Dodge City and they just celebrated their 27the wedding anniversary on December 4th.

He had been a mechanic and shop foreman at Beef Land in Garden City. David loved spending time with this family. A huge animal lover, he enjoyed being around their horses. David liked to go fishing and working on cars.

Survivors include his wife Mary Lara of the home in Dodge City; sons Cory Lara and Michael Lara of Garden City; father Raymond Lara of Scott City, Ks.; his siblings Julie Marquez, Debbie Lopez both of Dodge City, Lilly Tamayo of Liberal, Ray Lara of Garden City; along with his grandchildren Timothy Lara, Ivan Lara, Isaac Lara, Bella Lara, Bryant Lara, Jayla Lara; and great grandson Messiah Lara. Loved by all nieces & nephews.

David is preceded in death by his mother Flora Rinconez Gomez and brother Miguel
