Obituary

Debra Kay Acosta, 70, died Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at her home in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born on November 9, 1955 in Hutchinson, Kansas where she was raised and graduated from Hutchinson High School.

For several years she worked at the Grady Foundry in Hutchinson and later was a nurses aide. Debra moved to Wichita and worked at Shepler's for 14 years, she then went into home health care.

Debra lived in Hutchinson for several years until moving to Wichita where she was an active member of the New Hope Christian Church. She enjoyed doing crafts, playing bingo and spending time with her friends.

Survivors include her mother Bonnie Pina Cabral Stewart of South Hutchinson; brothers David Cabral of Salina, Calvin Stewart of Wichita, Jim Stewart of South Hutchinson; and sister Kathy Stewart Ratley of Buhler; along with several nieces and nephews Brooke, Cheyenne, Tosha, Billie, Sean, Tanner, Fallen. She was God mother to Brooke and Cheyenne.

Debra is preceded in death by her father Manuel Duarte and her husband of 22 years, Ronnie Carter in 2012.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are by Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Kansas.
