Dennis Ray Nelson, 65, of McPherson, Ks, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Ks.

Dennis was born in McPherson, Ks on April 12, 1959, to Marvin Leroy Nelson and Lila Darlene (Weaver) Nelson. Dennis spent his childhood in McPherson, where he graduated with the McPherson High School Class of 1977. He married Angela Bruzda June 7th, 1986 and they moved to Galva, Ks to raise their daughter.  After their parting in marriage, he permanently returned to McPherson.

Dennis dedicated much of his career to working as a Copier Service Engineer, most recently with McPherson Business Solutions.

An avid outdoorsman, Dennis found joy in the natural world, spending countless moments hunting, fishing, practicing archery, riding motorcycles, and golfing. His love for music was evident in his skillful guitar playing, which brought smiles to many.

Above all, Dennis was a Christian, a loving father, a proud grandfather, a brother, an uncle, and a dear friend. His memory will remain a blessing in the lives he enriched.

Dennis is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Kelli Schmidt, and her husband, Ryan, of Wichita, Kansas; his two adored grandchildren, Kennadi and Kaden Schmidt; his sister, Jolene Nelson; and his nephews and nieces: Lisa Nelson, Shawon Nelson, Kyle Koerner, Kasey Nelson, Kylee Glastetter (Koerner), and Kascie Taylor (Nelson).

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Darlene Nelson; his brother, Rick Nelson; and his infant twin brothers, Gary and Jerry Nelson.

A Celebration of Life (come and go) to honor Dennis's journey will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 2:00- 4:00 p.m. at the Community Center in Galva, Ks.
