Diane Gertrude Wendland (née Jones), age 75, passed away on September 10, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas. Born on December 31, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, Diane lived a life marked by the love for those around her.

Diane devoted her career to childcare, with a special focus on working with at-risk youth. Her work reflected a deep commitment to nurturing and guiding young lives during their most vulnerable moments. Her efforts left a lasting impact on many individuals and families who benefited from her care and steadfast presence.

Diane found happiness in simple pleasures. She loved spending time with family and friends, often gathering for games or sharing stories over crafts. These moments were filled with laughter and warmth.

Diane is survived by and was the proud mother of three children: Kevin Wendland, Tracy Smith (née Wendland), and Michael Wendland. She was also blessed with sixteen grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought joy to her life, and carry forward her legacy.
