Donald "Don" Hempler, 90, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on January 11, 2026. He was born April 7, 1935, to Christoph Arnold Hempler and Elizabeth (Scheuerrman) Hempler.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Obed, Raymond, Wilma, Alma, Esther, and Gertrude. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; his sons, Jeff Hempler (Crystal), Nicholas Hempler (Melissa), and Jeremy Hancock (Tammi); and his daughter, Karen Hempler. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Don was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on December 19, 1953, and faithfully served in the congregation for many years, including as an elder. He married the love of his life, Linda, on October 20, 1984, and together they served Jehovah throughout their marriage.

He worked in the aviation industry in Quality Control for over 40 years and proudly earned his pilot's license. A farmer at heart, Don loved gardening, cooking, and sharing his favorite recipes. He found great peace sitting outdoors, reflecting on God's creation, and enjoying quiet evenings under the stars.

Don will be remembered for his deep faith, kindness, and compassion for others.

A memorial service will be held January 31, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Derby Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1213 S. Rock Rd., Derby, KS.
