Donna Mae Honas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on March 23, 2025, surrounded by her husband and all four of her children as she left her earthly body and entered the gates of Heaven after all nine of her grandchildren came to say goodbye. She was the cherished wife of Jerry Honas for 53 wonderful years. Together, they built a beautiful life and family.

Donna was born on February 15, 1949, in Hays, Kansas, to Isadore and Vernetta Schmeidler. She was raised on the family farm as the oldest of six children. Donna and Jerry started dating while in college at Fort Hays State University, where Donna earned her bachelor's degree in nursing and later practiced as a Registered Nurse. Shortly thereafter, they began their family together, and Donna decided to be a stay-at-home mom, devoting her life fully to her children: Jeff (Elaina) Honas, Jennifer (Wes) Davis, Jill (Darren) Windholz, and Justin (Suzette) Honas. As the family grew, she embraced her role as a grandmother with immense joy and love. She adored her nine grandchildren: Ethan, Addison, Ana, Kevin, Luke, Andrew, Rylee, Kayla, and Aliyah. Donna cherished the moments with her grandchildren while spending hours baking brownies, coloring, playing school, and watching their antics with pride. She was the biggest encourager and supporter you would ever meet.

Donna's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She loved the Lord with all her heart and instilled in her children and grandchildren the importance of a walk with Jesus. Donna will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. The family will hold a private Celebration of Life to honor Donna's life.
