Donna Jane (Groendycke) Irvin, Age 88, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away April 25, 2025.  She was born to Len T and Elma Groendycke on August 12, 1936 on the farm in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. She graduated from Medicine Lodge high school, class of 1954 and went on to abtain her teaching degree from Northwestern State College in 1964 and earned her Master of Arts Management from Webster College in 1982.  Married to Gayle Kennard Irvin on January 21, 1956.

Donna taught in the Wichita Public School system for many years and taught the middle school gifted program in Valley Center and Goddard Schools.  She was a teacher and bible study leader.  She loved to travel and planned many annual trips for her high school graduating class over the years.  Donna was a member of Chi Omega Sorority from Kansas State University and was involved with the Scandinavian Market fund raiser for several years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gayle; parents, Len and Elma Groendycke; Sisters Peggy Vincent, Pattie Groendycke, and Leigh Groendycke.

Survived by; daughters Robin Irvin of Wichita and Cyndy (Lance) Kester of Valley Center and son Marc (Mona) Irvin of Cullman, Alabama; Grandchildren Satrina Kester of Wichita, Ks, Jason Burgess of Wichita, Ks, Jerika Kester of Sedgwick, Ks and Candice Kester of Valley Center, Ks, Andrea (Gerald) Rollason of Cullman Al, Erika (Stephen) Frame of Cullman, Al; her sister Doris (Larry) Bell of Wichita; 8 Great Grandchildren.

Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 am, May 24th at Countryside Christian Church in Wichita, Ks. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Countryside Christian Church.
