Obituary

Today we gather to celebrate and honor the life of Donnie Reed Jr., who passed away on September 23, 2025. Donnie was born on November 28, 1988, to Lou Reed and Donnie Reed Sr. From the very beginning, Donnie's presence brought joy, laughter, and light into the lives of those who knew him.

Donnie leaves behind two sons, Mario Reed and Cameron King, who were the pride of his heart. He is also remembered by his siblings: sisters Angela Reed, Brandi Smith, and Lou Reed II; and by two sisters who preceded him, Tisha Jones and Aries Straighter. His brothers Anthony Reed, Leonard Reed, and Monroe Reed will forever carry his memory.

Donnie is also survived by a large and loving family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom will continue to cherish his legacy. Donnie lived life with passion and strength. He proudly served his country with honor, completing two tours in Afghanistan as a member of the U.S. Army. No matter how far away he was, he always made sure his family knew he would come home. His service was a testament to his courage and his deep love for those he protected.

Though Donnie's upbringing came with challenges, he never allowed them to dull his shine. Known for his charm and good looks, he was a man who took pride in himself and wasn't afraid of a good challenge. He could be tough when he needed to be, but he was also gentle, kind, and full of love—especially toward the women in his life.

Donnie had an infectious laugh that could light up a room, and he always made sure those around him were smiling. He loved family, laughter, working out, and tattooing, and he carried an unshakable sense of joy wherever he went. Donnie had a way of making everyone feel seen, valued, and loved. He was always of service to others, giving freely of his time and his heart.

Donnie truly lived life to the fullest, and his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone he touched.

We will gather to celebrate Donnie's life and say our final goodbyes on October 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Olive Church of God in Christ. As we come together, let us remember Donnie not with sorrow alone, but with gratitude for the laughter, love, and memories he gave us all.

Rest in peace, Donnie. Your light will never fade.

Always remember me

For my good points

Not my bad.

Always think of me

When you're happy

And when you're sad.

Always love me

When you're loving

And when you're down;

And I'll always

Be there with a

Smile, not a frown.

Always care for me

When you're troubled

And when you're free.

Always remember us

And together

We'll always be.
