Dorothy "Jeannie" Jean Brownlee, 71, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Friday, April 17, 2026. She was born October 1, 1954, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Dean and Vona (Rea) Rice.

Jeannie was raised in Melvern, Kansas, and graduated from Melvern High School in 1972. Following graduation, she moved to Wichita, where she attended the Wesley Medical Center School of Radiologic Technology. She dedicated more than 30 years of her career as an X-ray technician, caring for others with quiet compassion and skill. On October 20, 1973, Jeannie was united in marriage to Brad Brownlee in Wellington, Kansas. Together, they built a life centered on family and raised two children, Jennifer and Jeff.

Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Vona Rice; her infant brother, Johnnie; and her sisters, Linda Fellers and Lori Privat.

She is survived by her loving husband, Brad Brownlee of Wichita; her daughter, Jennifer Mayer (Robert) of Wichita; her son, Jeff Brownlee (Michele) of Wichita; her sister, Jan Fenwick of Topeka; five cherished grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

No services are planned at this time. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
