Edgar Francisco Artega-Merino, 48, passed away on April 27, 2026 in Wichita, Ks. He was born on January 1, 1978 in San Salvador, El Salvador.

He was a longtime resident of Garden City, Ks. He enjoyed traveling to Mexico and El Salvador, as well as visiting all but 2 of the 50 states being a truck driver. When he wasn't traveling, he liked to play video games and spend time with his cats.

He is preceded in death by his father, Pedro Ortiz Ayalla, and brother, Victor Antonio Merino.

He is survived by his mother, Gladis Merino, brother, Moses Merino, nieces; Yajaira Melgar and Gabriella Merino, and nephew, Abraham Merino.
