Obituary

Ella Mae Miller, 95, longtime Wichita resident, died Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at her home in Wichita.

She was born on May 18, 1929 in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of James Myron and Wilda Rose Puckett Swayze. The family moved to Wichita when Ella Mae was a child. She graduated from Wichita North High School and later attended Friends University.

She had worked at Gayla's Fashion for a few years before going to work at Emprise Bank where she had been a Teller and Bank Manager before retiring.

Ella Mae was a longtime member of Westwood Presbyterian Church where she had continued to remain active. She enjoyed playing bridge, riding her bicycle and ice skating. Ella Mae was very artistic and did several oil paintings.

Survivors include her two sons Clifford L. Miller and wife Debbie and Marty Reid Miller and wife Cynthia all of Wichita; along with six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and brother James Swayze and wife Joanne of Wichita

Ella Mae is preceded in death by her parents; daughter Jamie Rose Gerstner; and sisters Betty June Woodward and Eva Rose Newton.
