Elma Elaine Allen, 96, of Derby, Kansas, was Born June 2, 1928 and passed away, Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

Elma, the daughter of Alfonso Battista and Victoria Roman-Battista. was born, raised, and graduated high school in Youngstown, Ohio.

When Elma was 18, She moved to Orange County, California where she and her sister Valia, were members of The Catholic Daughters in Hollywood. In 1954 she married Steven Lou Stevens and they had Robert in 1959.

Elma worked as a cosmetologist for many years, and then went on to work for Johnny Cash. In 1979 her husband Lou passed away.

Elma later moved to Louisiana in 1990 to be close to her grandchildren. There she married Charles Robert Allen in 1998 in Deridder, Louisiana. Bob Allen died in 2012.

For several years she was the Executive Secretary to Quality Control at Beauregard Hospital in Deridder, LA. She later moved to live with her son, Robert, in the Austin, Texas area prior to moving with Robert and his family to Derby, Kansas.

Survivors include her son Robert Stevens and his wife Lorie of Derby; Nieces: Linda Tippie and Diana Battista; Grandchildren: Deuce Stevens and his wife Lauren of Wichita, Gabriella Stevens of Derby, Taylor Pogue of Georgetown, Texas, Abigayle Pogue of Derby, and 13 great grandchildren whom all loved her dearly!

Elma is preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brothers Eugene and Irvin Battista; and sister Valia Sallustio.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025 at The Lighthouse Church ICT at 1414 W. Pawnee St. Wichita, KS 67213 at 11 AM.
