Ernest David
Webb
Jul 22, 1928 — Jul 27, 2025
Ernest David Webb, 97, passed away at home on July 27, 2025.
He was born on July 22, 1928 in Harrold, Texas near the Waggoner Ranch. Ernie was a loyal and humble Texan whose childhood home was on the banks of the Red River. He spent many happy days playing there with his brothers. Being the youngest child in the family, he tells that his older brothers also would enjoy rolling him down a nearby hill in an inner tube.
Ernie enjoyed reading, reciting and writing poetry. In his nineties, he once amazed a group of family members by reciting the entire poem, "Man with a Hoe" by Edwin Markham.
Ernie was an entrepreneur who had his own construction company at age 28. He worked at Cessna and Boeing and then became a real estate broker.
Ernie is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara, nieces Jennifer Gordon (Don), Karla Binns (Julian), Kathie Perkins (Michael), Rebecca Webb (Mike), and nephew, David Webb (Sarah).
He was preceded in death by his parents; William Arthur Webb and Maude Alice (Crisp) Webb, his first wife, Birtie, his brothers, Lee, Carl, Herbert and Norman, his half-brothers Harvey and William and his half-sister, Eva.
"And now, Lord, what wait I for? MY HOPE IS IN THEE."
