Evelyn Marie Davis, 90, of Wichita, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 6, 1934 in Grinnell, Kansas, the daughter of Adam and Lucia Windholz-Geist. Evelyn was raised in Grinnell and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Wichita.

She met Wayne Floyd Davis while they both worked at Boeing and later married on February 19, 1955 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wichita. Evelyn and Wayne continued to live in Wichita.

She enjoyed travelling, camping and fishing, working in her garden, cooking, baking, sewing, and embroidering.

Family was very important to Evelyn.  She often referred to them as her pride and joy.  She is survived by her husband, Wayne, with whom she enjoyed 70 years.  Also survived by her five daughters: Janet Bailey of Wichita, Kathy Lohkamp of Wichita, Linda Steiner of Greentown, Ohio, Mindy Emery (Martin) of Forestburg, Texas, and Nancy Hallacy (Kevin) of Wichita; five grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law Kenny Bailey; grandson Thomas "Tad" Doyle; several brothers and sisters.

A Celebration of Life is to be determined.
