Fred S. Schmidt, 67, passed away on March 8, 2025 at his home in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on August 27, 1957 to Mike and Virginia (Raven) Schmidt in Wichita, Kansas.

He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1977 to 1983 and earned the sharpshooter award. After being honorably discharged he went on to work for Learjet as an electrician. He was a very proud Cherokee Tribal Member. He enjoyed all sports, especially baseball and all types of music. He liked to go fishing and go on road trips with the windows down, music blaring over the radio and his dogs in the back.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Fountain; daughter, Christina; and son, Fred Schmidt, Jr.; sister, Debra Sullivan (Edwin); brother, Michael Schmidt (Deborah); and sister, Rebecca Burris (Jeff).
