Gary Dean Swinger, 69, died Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at his home in Wichita, Kansas.

He was born on May 5, 1955 in Sedan, Kansas, the son of Charles and Alyce Dorris Swinger. The family moved to Wichita where Gary was raised and graduated from Wichita East High School.

He married Pamela Susan Smith on October 16, 1976 in Wichita. They were members of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Wichita.

Gary had been a Lead Foreman at Wescon Controls in Wichita for over 40 years before retiring.

For several years he hosted karaoke events in the Wichita area where everyone knew him as "Stretch". He also performed as a clown for 20 years. Gary also enjoyed playing golf and fishing.

Family time was important to Gary. He is survived by his wife Pamela of the home; son Bob Swinger and wife Chastity Pinney; daughters Theresa Swinger and husband Andrew Garner, Alicia Lucas all of Wichita; adopted daughters Dana Morgan and Rachel Shimkovitz of Wichita; brother Ron Swinger of Wichita; sister Gloria Broadbrooks of Rogers, Arkansas; grandchildren Kathy Lucas, Tony Lucas, Serra Billings, Gary Jordan, Ryder Garner.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents; son Anthony Swinger; brother Rick Swinger; two infant brothers; and two grandchildren Paul Campbell and Cassandra Lucas.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, May 1st at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Wichita.
