Helen Marie Drake, 63, longtime Wichita resident, died Sunday, December 7, 2025 at the Medicalodge of Goddard in Goddard, Kansas.

She was born on March 24, 1962 in Hominy, Oklahoma, the daughter of Harul and Georgia Branson Roe. The family later moved to Great Bend, Kansas where she was raised and graduated from high school. Helen served a short time in the U.S. Navy

Through the years Helen had been a truck driver for Schneider National and a telemarketer for MCI. She had lived in the Farmington, New Mexico area for several years before moving to Wichita 20 years ago.

Helen enjoyed volunteering at the V.A. Hospital along with fishing and gardening. She was loved by many and loved everyone

Survivors include her daughter Erika Roe; her granddaughter that she thought the world of, Kitara Roe, who has a baby on the way both of Wichita; brother Richard Roe of Wichita; and half-sister Barbara of Tampa, Florida.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Russell Roe, Robin Branson; and sister Evelyn Hogan and her fur baby Riley.

Memorial services will be held at Medicalodge's of Goddard on Wednesday, December 17 at 12:30 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Robert J. Dole V.A. Medical Center in Wichita in memory of Helen.
