Ismael Enrique Santiago, 72, of Wichita, died Thursday, November 28, 2024 at the Robert J. Dole V.A. Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

He was born on December 19, 1951 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, the son of Jose Antonio and Carmen "Yiya". After graduating high school in New Jersey, Ismael enlisted in the U.S. Air Force which brought him to McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita. After being discharged in 1976, he remained in Wichita to begin raising his family.

Ismael had worked at Boeing Aircraft for several years until retiring. He enjoyed having a glass or two of his favorite Puerto Rican Rum as well as fishing. He also loved spending time seeing his grandsons and talking cars.

Survivors include his only daughter Marisol Santiago of Maize, Ks.; sons Victor Santiago, Alex Santiago, Isaiah Santiago all of Castle Rock, Colo.; grandsons Ismael "Izzy" Santiago, III, Jaden Santiago, Elijah Santiago, Isaac Santiago; and two great grandsons Ismael "Zee" Santiago, IV and Zevin Santiago.

Ismael was preceded in death by his parents and sons Ismael "Is" Santiago, II, and Ismael "Simian" Santiago.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 7 at Affordable Cremations Plus in Wichita.
