James "Jim" Duane Jantz, of Hillsboro, Kansas, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Hillsboro to Frank and Edna Jantz, and grew up with his brothers Ron, Merle (deceased), and Gary.

From an early age, Jim was known for his creativity, curiosity, and adventurous spirit. He developed a passion for painting in his youth, a talent that reflected the artistic eye he carried throughout his life. During his high school years, Jim was active in wrestling, baseball, basketball, tumbling, and Boy Scouts.

After high school, Jim loved fishing, hunting, skiing, hot air balloons, and especially photography, through which he captured the world with the same appreciation and wonder that he brought to life. Jim later built a career in commercial art, a profession that allowed him to merge his creativity with his work.

Above all, Jim was a man deeply dedicated to his family and faith. He was a member of the 2nd Church of Christ, Scientist, where he found strength, community, and purpose.

Jim is survived by his son Darren Jantz and daughter‑in‑law Amalia; his grandchildren Abigail (26), Danielle (21), Stephen (21), and Madeline (12); and his great‑grandchildren Messer and Maverick, all of whom brought tremendous joy to his life.

Jim's legacy lives on through the family he loved, the art he created, and the countless memories he shared with those fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his creativity, and his unwavering devotion to the people he cherished.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Bleckly Apartments,1301 E. Bleckly Wichita, Ks. in the gathering room.
