James Ryan Jones

James (Jimmy) Ryan Jones, age 61, passed away August 7, 2026 peacefully at his home in Wichita, Ks. 

Jimmy was born on May 10th, 1965 in Great Bend, Ks to Jerry Jones and Becky Jones. They later moved to Wichita Ks for the majority of his childhood, growing up to later enlist in the Army. Stationed at Fort Bliss, Jimmy served during the Desert Shield/Storm conflict of the early 90’s. After getting out his military service to start a family, he held various jobs until layoff options gave him the chance to pivot careers into school to become a nurse at Butler CC. After receiving his RN he worked at Wesley Hospital starting out in the trauma unit, where he would go to 10th floor and 7T. Becoming a nurse was his calling. Jimmy was loved by his nursing family, military family, his child hood friends and his family. Jimmy loved his two fur babies Mister and Baby. 

Jimmy is survived by his wife Casandra Hall, children Jordan Jones, Justin Jones, Christopher Coon, Sarah Hall, grandchildren Ryan Jones Penelope Jones, sisters Jeri Chappel (Jerry), Geraldine Richmeier-Moats (Rick), nephews Michael Lopez, Devin Chappel, nieces Kaitlyn Chappel(Tanner), Ashleigh Chappel, Paige Chappel, Great nephew Michael Lopez, Great nieces Kaela Lopez, Jaeden Lopez. Preceded in death mother Becky Jones, Father Jerry Jones.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Affordable Cremations Plus, 7920 W Kellogg Drive Suite 200 Wichita, Ks. Graveside service will take place on Monday, August 17, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Kansas Veterans Cemetery 1208 N College Winfield, Ks 67156.
