Janelle K. Standrich, 54, of Dodge City, Kansas, passed away on August 19, 2026. She was born on June 18, 1972 in Wichita, Kansas to Jerry and Catherine (Thurman) Standrich.

Janelle was a woman of many passions and a heart full a love. She earned her bachelor's degree in history and English, from Newman University, where she discovered a deep appreciation for researching and learning about history. She was a proud volunteer at Old Cowtown Museum in Wichita, where her love of history came to life and she met Jake Ring, the love of her life. They had a long relationship built on love, friendship, and shared memories for over 20 years. They were excited to marry on August 13, 2026.

Janelle was a devoted Oklahoma Sooners football fan and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her beloved Sooners. She was an avid reader who could always be found with a good book, and she found joy in quilting, and caring for the many animals she loved, including her dogs and guinea pigs. But above all else, Janelle treasured her family. Her grandson, Kassius was her world, he got her hooked-on Legos and it was among her greatest joys.

Janelle proudly dedicated much of her professional life to serving the farming community of Southwest Kansas through her work with the Farm Service Agency (FSA) office in Dodge City and previously Pride Ag Resources. She loved making a difference in their lives and becoming friends with the farmers and coworkers, talking about all the shenanigans that happened. Anyone who seen her name on their phone knew it was going to be a long call about a lot of things, always with colorful things, words, and ideas.

Janelle was proceeded in death by her father Jerry Standrich; her beloved daughter Jenna Standrich-Abarca; and her father-in-law Douglas Ring.

She leaves behind a family who will carry her love and memory in their hearts: her husband Jake Ring, beloved grandson Kassius Hinajosa mother Catherine Standrich, sister Christy Standrich, niece Riley Bump, step-grandmother LeeAnn Standrich, mother-in-law Karen Ring, brothers-in-law David Ring and family, Donald Ring and family, Timithy Ring and Family, Sisters-in-law Bonnie Trent and family, Kate Grant and family, and best friend Jessica Smith.

Janelle’s life is defined by the things she loved most – her family, animals, books, history, the Sooners, and the countless people whose lives she touched along the way. Her laughter, kindness, determination, and unwavering love for those around her will be deeply missed.

Though her time with us was far too short, the love she gave, and the memories she created will remain forever.

A celebration of Janelle’s life in Wichita is pending. A Celebration of Life in Dodge City will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026 5:30pm to 8:00 p.m. at Ford County Fairgrounds 901 Park St Dodge City, Ks 67801.
