Janice Mae Walley, 84, of Newton, Kansas, died Friday, August 15, 2025 at the Homestead of Halstead in Halstead, Kansas.
She was born on October 24, 1940 in Lanham, Kansas, the daughter of Henry F. and Malinda Maatsch Rippe. Janice graduated from high school in Hanover, Kansas.
Through the years she had lived in Manhattan, Kansas and Valley Center, Kansas before moving to Wichita in 1973 where she lived until moving to Newton 12 years ago.
Janice had been a legal secretary for several oil and gas companies in Wichita including Koch Industries where she had worked for 15 years, retiring in 2007.
She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include her sister Laura Allerheiligen and husband Darrell of Waverly, Nebraska; sister-in-law Darlene Rippe of Smith Center, Ks.; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and several great-great nieces and nephews.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Norman, Lawrence, and Wilmer Rippe; and sister Roine Tegethoff.
As per her wishes, no services will be held.
