Obituary

Dorothy Jeanne T. Clemensen, 81, longtime Wichita resident, died Friday, June 20, 2025 at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Unit of Ascension Via Christi Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.

She was born on September 26, 1943 in Pratt, Kansas, the daughter of Edward Royal and Constance Boggs Tremaine. Jeanne was raised in the Pratt area where she graduated from high school. She married Larry Joe Clemensen in 1960. Being drafted into the military, while Larry was in the military, she attended Emporia State Teachers College.

Jeanne and Larry lived in Houston for a while before moving to Derby, Kansas where she was a school teacher for a few years. After raising her two daughters she returned to substitute teaching in the Middle Schools in Wichita. The family moved to the College Hill area in the early 1970's. Larry died in 1986.

Through the years Jeanne had been a member of University Congregational Church where she had been a Deacon. She was actively involved with the Alzheimer's Association, Al-Anon, and had been a volunteer at Maude Carpenter Children's Home.

Survivors include her two daughters Lainie Stark and Keri Clemensen both of Wichita; four grandchildren Grace Elizabeth Stark, Blake Andrew Stark, Alana Rose Brill, Willow Anne Brill; and great grandson Carter William White.

Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother James Royal "Jimmy" Tremaine.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 27 at Affordable Cremations Plus in Wichita.
