Jeannie Rose Brown, 67, passed February 15, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas. One of four sisters, she was born in Los Angeles, California on February 17, 1958 to Clifford "J.D." Brown and Ina Rist.
She married Michael Rhoads on July 2, 1977 and gave birth to her son Justin on February 29, 1980. Later, she married David Chambers on December 31, 1982 and gave birth to her daughter Sabrina on August 2, 1983.
She is survived by her sisters Debbie "Fay" Ritz and Patty Cameron, her mother Ina, and her two children. She was kin to several nieces (Angela Bailey, Hannah Cameron, Rebekah Cameron, Sarah Cameron) and nephews (Anthony Bailey, Stan Meer, Eric Meer, Dennis Meer, Andrew Cameron, Stephen Cameron, Timothy Cameron, Mark Cameron) and one grandchild (Ayden Hooks).
She was preceded in death by her father Clifford (D. April 10, 2006), her sister Susie Meer (D. April 13, 2019), and her nephew Anthony Bailey (D. November 30, 2024).
Jeannie, ever the jokester, was an avid reader—her favorite author being Stephen King—and enjoyed crafting and jewelry making as well as curling up to watch movies with her beloved dog Peanut. She had lived many years with long-time cohort, Charles Heckenlively, in Caney and Cedar Vale, Kansas.
She was loved, and will be missed, by many.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 2 at the Hilltop Restaurant in Cedar Vale.
Arrangements are by Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Kansas.
