Jeleane Benest Osborn passed away on hospice care in Rose Hill, KS.

Jeleane was born in Fredonia, Ks October 8, 1943 to Otha and Jim White.  She spent her childhood in Kansas and Texas graduating from Severy High School in 1961.

After graduating she married Doug and they built a life in Severy and ran Benest Propane until Doug passed in 1985.  While raising her family and running the business, Jeleane met Jim and they married in 1989.  They ran the business and enjoyed family life until she retired to Oklahoma to enjoy lake life, boating, grandkids and cherished friends.  She returned to Kansas with Jim to be closer to family and enjoyed her grandkids to the fullest.

Jeleane was preceded in death by her first husband Doug, mother Otha, father Jim, stepfather Herschel, and brother, Norman.

She is survived by Jim her husband of 36 years.  Six children: Chris, Andrea, Tyler, Tyson, Tamara and Tate.  Eight grandchildren: Brett, Jackson, Taven, Cash, Case, Taylor, Tinley and Tristin, and her brother, Ron.

Jeleane's heart and warmth made everyone's lives better and the world a better place.

Services for Jeleane Benest Osborn will be Wednesday, May 13th, 2026 in Severy, KS. Family will have a graveside visitation from 11:00am-12:00pm and a graveside service will start at 12:00. The visitation and graveside will be at South Lawn Cemetery located at 1558 20th street Severy, KS.

In lieu of flowers the family has established memorials to Gentiva Hospice and the Severy United Methodist Church. Memorials may be sent in care of Affordable Cremations Plus 7920 W Kellogg Drive Suite 200 Wichita, Ks.
