Jimmie Dean Cranford, 81, passed away on May 27, 2025 at his home in Derby, Ks. He was born on February 22, 1944 in Northville, Michigan to Dean L. and Irma M. (Birdsong) Cranford.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1964- 1970. After being honorably discharged he went to work for Cessna aircraft where he was a mechanic and worked in the assembly until his retirement. He enjoyed watching old western shows, his favorite was Gunsmoke. He also enjoyed traveling whether it was a long trip or a short distance he was always ready to travel.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jerry Cranford.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of the home, five children; Jimmie (Samantha), Robert (Monica), Richard, Martin (Angee), and Michelle Cranford, three step children; Patrick Helton, Michael (Kimberly) Helton, and Jeremy Helton, 15 grandchildren; Caitlin, Jared, Jordan, Victoria, Morgan, Skylord, Ariel, Josiah, Jacob, Joshua, Sarah, Alexis, Devin, Ethan, and Nicholas, along with two great grandchildren; Oliver and Hurley.
Graveside services to be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield, Ks.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 14 between 2:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. at the Richard Gilbert American Legion Post #256 at 4590 West Vanderhoff Circle in Wichita, Ks.
