Jimmy LeRoy Swaney, 85, of Derby, Kansas, passed away on Saturday April 26, 2025 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

He was born on September 28, 1939 in Wichita to Roy and Mava Swaney.  Jim was a proud 1957 graduate from Derby High School.

Jim was employed at Price Bros. Equipment Company in Wichita for over 35 years.  Jim served his country in the National Guard for eight years.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Stone Swaney; son Jimmy LeRoy Swaney Jr, his daughters Amber (Jacob) Kellogg and Reva (Jordon) Lujan; daughter Cindy (Steve) Niedens, their children, Chris (Teri) Kilgore, Grant Kilgore, Adam (Nguyet) Kilgore and Ashley (Braiden) Fiene; and son Bret (Carol) Swaney and their children Stephanie Swaney, Travis (Ruth Ann) Swaney, and Nichole Edgmon.  They were blessed with 27 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Jim is also survived by his brothers Ron (Pat) Swaney, Rex (Sherry) Swaney; and sisters Bert Arwine, Judy (David) New;  brothers & sisters in-law, Ron (Pat) Jackson, Sam (Sally) Stone and Rilla Lemon.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Roy and Mava Swaney; sister JoAnn Linot; brother Gary Swaney and brother-in-laws Joe Linot, Joe Arwine and Jon Lemon.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, May 5th, 2025 at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1806 N. Oliver Avenue, Wichita, Kansas.

A memorial has been established at South Rock Christian Church, 900 S Rock Road, Derby, Kansas 67037.
