Obituary

John H.F. Adams Jr., 64, of Udall, Ks, passed away on October 5, 2026, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Ks with his loving wife Tracy, Sister-in-law Erin and the amazing nursing staff that had grown to love him by his side after a brief fight with cancer.

John was born March 25,1962 in Fort Richardson, Alaska to John H.F. Adams Sr., and Rosetta (Antonini) Adams.

John graduated in 1980 from Independence High School in Independence, KS.

John then graduated from the police academy and spent 35 years in law enforcement with the City of Winfield, spent many years with the Department of Corrections in Winfield and retired as the Chief of Police from Oxford, KS. John enjoyed teaching conceal and carry courses, coached youth baseball and basketball. One of John’s greatest passions was playing the drums. He traveled the US playing with a Motley Crue cover band before pursuing a career in law enforcement.

He married the Love of his life Tracy J. Connors December 25, 2022, in Independence, KS and enjoyed their life together at their home in Udall, KS.

Spending time with family, friends and more than anything his wife Tracy who never left his side. John enjoyed trips to Colorado and the once-a-week breakfast gatherings in Independence at Down Home Family Restaurant with Indy family and friends. He would even go back the same evening for some fried chicken. Then the late-night talks with Nana, Dottie, after everyone went to sleep.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Sharon Adams.

John is survived by his wife, Tracy J. Connors Adams, daughter, Oriana R. Adams, son, John H.F. Adams III, best friends Kyle Williams, Jon Horning, bonus daughter Latasha Winebrenner (Mitchell), two sisters; Sue (Bill) Egner, and Nancy (Joe) Summers, In-Law’s Thomas J. and Dottie Connors, Brother and Sister in law Tom (Joann) Connors, Sister and brother in law Erin (Aaron) Miesner, Cousins, Nephews, Nieces as well as four grandchildren; Caleb, Kaylie, Brian, Piper and many close friends.

Out of respect for John’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.

A celebration of life will be planned for family and friends in March of 2027.
